It's amazing how easy you can change the look of a room with accessories, furniture, paint or by rearranging your decor.

For example, say you like the Italian style. Begin by painting your room a warm, earthy color. Texture is a must- to achieve this you might try sponge-painting or ragging or even using actual texture by faux stucco or sand mixed with your paint. Then, walk through your home and find unique or Italian items. Pick items that compliment the paint color you have chosen. Some examples would be to incorporate iron, pottery, or marble. Move them to different locations around the room until you feel they are "just right".
